Job Summary: | |
The Surgical Processor is responsible for performing and documenting a full range of duties which include: decontaminating, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distributing sterile instruments (including the most highly complex instruments), supplies and non-sterile equipment for patient care units, clinics and operating rooms.Alberta Health Services requires all employees working in medical device reprocessing to have successfully completed their Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) Exam – no later than March 31, 2015. Mandatory certification will be a condition of employment for all employees performing MDR duties in the designated areas as of April 1, 2015. | |
Qualifications: | |
A Sterile Processing Certificate, including successful completion of a practicum placement from a recognized educational institution is required. Knowledge and experience with the WHIMS program is necessary. Experience within past 5 years is preferred. |
