Job Summary:
This position reports directly to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager with clinical direction and coordination provided by the Medical Radiation Technologist. In collaboration with health team members provides non-professional services in the Diagnostic Imaging areas to maintain a hygienic, well equipped and safe patient care environment ensuring adequate levels of supplies are available in the areas. The Service Worker I assists with day-to-day activities including direct patient contact. Duties include but are not limited to: physically supports and assists with the movement and transfer of patients to and from the examination table, portering of patients, transporting equipment, stocking and ordering supplies, cleaning examination rooms, linen and waste handling, and performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
– Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
– Two years experience in a hospital setting is preferred
– Experience with patient portering and knowledge of safe patient handling
– Ability to function independently as well as in a team setting
– Demonstrated strong communication (both written and verbal) are required
– Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills are required.
– Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
– Highly motivated and self directed
