Job Summary:
The Nursing Attendant, under supervision, provides personal care to patients in acute care. Duties include: general cleaning, transporting patients, morning care, assisting patients with activities of daily living, observing and reporting patient needs, problems and change of conditions. The position requires frequent heavy lifting and the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time.
Qualifications:
– Grade XII Diploma.
– Successful completion of a PCA program preferred.
– Current CPR certification required.
– Demonstrated ability to read and write legibly.
– Ability to communicate effectively.
– Observation and reporting skills.
– Experience providing personal care required.
– Experience in Acute Care areas required.
– Ability to perform duties as outlined on the Physical Demand Statement (PDS) for the position.
– Reliable and dependable.
– Ability to safeguard AHS information as private and confidential.
– Ability to follow and adhere to AHS policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
– Able to work under supervision.
– Adaptable.
