Job Summary:
Unit 82 is a fast paced Urology unit. Under the supervision and direction of the RN/LPN, the Health Care Aide provides direct patient care to assist in activities of daily living and the promotion of patient comfort and safety. The HCA is also responsible for indirect patient care activities that support the overall provision of care on the unit.
Qualifications:
– Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program is required.
– Current BCLS-HCP certification is required.
– Recent (within past year) acute care hospital experience is required. Candidates with previous surgical experience will be given preference. Consideration will be given to recent HCA graduates if they have had a hospital clinical practicum as part of their training.
– Position does require the ability to lift and transfer patients.
– Must be able to speak, write and read English fluently.
– Must have the demonstrated ability to work within a team and accept direction as required.
– Must have well developed time management/organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities that may occur throughout the day.
