Job Summary:
A staff position in the Home Care program whose function is to provide personal care assistance to clients in their own homes in the community.
Qualifications:
– Grade XII, or Canadian equivalent, preferred.
– Health Care Aide certificate.
– A minimum of 2 years experience in Health/Home Care environment preferred.
– Yearly attendance at Back Care in-service.
– Demonstrates good organizational skills.
– Ability to maintain an open-minded non-judgmental approach to all lifestyles.
– Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
– Ability to be flexible to time commitments and flexible to meet the needs of clients in Home Care.
– Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
– Mature and responsible.
– Ability to work with people in a health/home care environment with professionalism and respect.
– Proven organizational, time management, and sound decision making skills required.
– Ability to learn and receive constructive criticism.
– Ability to work under limited supervision required.
– Ability to perform duties as outlined on the Physical Demand Statement (PDS) for the position.
– Ability to safeguard Alberta Health Services information as private and confidential.
– Ability to follow and adhere to Alberta Health Services policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
– This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.
