Full-Time Personal Care Worker and Companion – Part-time in Regina
Job Description
“Young woman (age 22) with physical disability requires a Personal Care Worker/Companion. Seeking highly motivated and dynamic individual who has experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or education in the field. Successful applicant(s) will be responsible for supporting the young woman. Duties will include evening & weekend personal care (transfers, bath, physio, dressing, meals and other duties) and engaging in daily life in community (shopping, movies, coffee, etc) on weekends. Successful candidate may be required, at times, to drive family accessible van or accompany young woman on Paratransit.
Preference will be given to those individuals with post secondary in related field (Kinesiology, Social Work, Education, Psychology, Nursing)
Previous experience with regard to persons with disAbilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive relationships
Enthusiastic, takes initiative, self-motivated
Excellent organizational & communication skills
Ability to motivate, make decisions & problem solve
Possess a valid drivers license
Clear criminal record check
Provide current references”
